2022 New Year's Resolution #1: Make 22 Tech Videos

One year ago on December 30th, 2020 I posted my tech video. It had been 5 months since the video before it, which was about sculpting. I only had family subscribers at that time.

One year later today on December 31, 2021 the channel has grown from 18 minute long, borderline incoherent rambles to tech reviews that have good lighting, a solid amount of b-roll footage, and concise explanations. I am incredibly thankful for everyone of my 258 subscribers who have trusted me with their time and chosen to watch my videos.

I had honestly not expected this many subscribers. I had thought I would only be at around 100 and it would be because of my school videos where I talk about studying and the premed life. Tech videos were my dream but I was doing them more just to prove to myself that I wouldn't be successful at them. I was trying for the sake of trying.

Out of my first 8 videos, half were tech, half were school and life. I am unbelievably grateful for everyone that proved me wrong. I am even more grateful for everyone that gave me constructive criticism and told me how I could make my videos better. It was your views and your engagement in the comments that convinced me that I could be a tech YouTuber.

Firstly, I must say thank you to the cooking channels that shared their 2020 earnings with my mother. She still tells me that I am just wasting my time and that I need to focus on school if I want to be a doctor, which isn't wrong, but because of you guys she thinks YouTube could be useful side hustle and her not saying "No" is much appreciated.

But most importantly, thank you to my subscribers. Thank you so very much! Y'all are the reason a premed student like me can dream about pursuing an interest outside of medicine.

If you're interested in watching any of my reviews, I have embedded a few of my better ones below. Some of them are nearly a year old and I have improved a lot since then so please don't use them to measure my current ability!

**Mid Year Update**

In the first half of the year I have only made 2 of the promised 22 videos. As I was premed, and I was not scoring high enough on my practice MCATs I stopped making YouTube videos entirely after graduating. Afterwards I had many personal things to take care of, like deciding that I don't want to go to medical school. That's something to unpack at a later time but what I can say is that all of that is now in the past and you will see more of me soon. Like a video every 2 weeks starting from August.
